What working with IAZ Photo Studio looks like
IAZ Photo Studio has photographed and filmed weddings, quinceañeras and graduations for Arizona families since 2004, and it is growing into a team of photographers and videographers who work in one shared style.
- One photo and video team at every event. The photographer and the videographer plan angles and timing together, so the family deals with one team all day.
- The founders set the style and review every delivery. Cristobal Varela, co-founder and Director of Photography, defines how the studio photographs and edits. Sonia Varela, co-founder and Director of Videography, leads the video side. Together they train the team and review every gallery and film before it reaches a family.
- Long, continuous coverage. Wedding and quinceañera packages run 8 to 12 continuous hours, and each one starts with a photo session before the event.
- Bilingual families. Many of our families celebrate in Spanish, English or both, and the team guides group photos in the language each side of the family speaks.

What IAZ Photo Studio looks for in photographers and videographers
We look for people who can tell a whole event, not just make a few strong images.
- A portfolio with at least one complete wedding, quinceañera or other event.
- Confidence in difficult light: reception halls, churches and parties that run into the night.
- A calm, kind way with families, honorees and large groups.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Availability on weekends and evenings, when most celebrations happen.
How hiring works at IAZ Photo Studio
- Share your portfolio with the hiring form on this page or on the role page for your city. We ask for links, never file uploads.
- When a role opens in your city, we email you.
- We talk and review your work together.
- You work beside our team at one event before you cover one yourself.
The training follows the same process the founders wrote down over more than 500 events: how to plan the day with each family, what to cover at every stage of a celebration, and how every delivery is reviewed before it leaves the studio.
Questions about working with IAZ Photo Studio
Are IAZ Photo Studio roles employee or contractor positions?
Each role states its work type and pay on its page when it opens. No role is open today.
Do I need my own camera gear to work with IAZ Photo Studio?
Each role page lists the gear the role needs when it opens.
Do I need to speak Spanish to work at IAZ Photo Studio events?
It helps. Many families celebrate in Spanish, English or both, so bilingual candidates are preferred.
Do I need a drone license to film for IAZ Photo Studio?
Only to fly. Flying a drone for business in the United States requires an FAA remote pilot certificate under Part 107 (opens in a new tab). Aerial footage is part of the Deluxe package, so a certificate is a plus for videographers.
What happens to the portfolio link I send?
It reaches our team by email and is not stored on the website. The privacy policy explains how we handle it.
